AAHHH my hamstrings..we seem to always be at odds. Today's run was a bit better. I think i'll keep up with the yoga. It does seem to help. I was thinking about 15-20 minutes a day. Even if i can only do 10 minutes my hamstrings will thank me.
I also seem to be in a everyday tug of war with my inner voice..the one that tells me how i look and what i should eat. Some days the voice is on the you need to eat by the book...no cheats of any kind..then other days it will say..usually when i'm in the candy isle at Target..Lord Vanessa...you ran 7 miles this morning and you are going to lift weights later...those jelly beans will not kill you..go on you know you want them...besides you could get hit by a bus tomorrow...do you want your last meal to be watercrest..(my fave line from a Golden Girls episode) So yes i had the jelly beans..Most days i don't feel bad about what i eat. I've come to the conclusion that i'm 41 years old..my body has been though a lot..i've had a baby..well 18 years ago...but still that counts..i gained up to 220 and lost down to 121 at my lowest weight..i'm now at 132 and i've been around this weight since last October. I wear a size 6 comfortably..i can wear a 4 but i don't like my pants to fit tight..so i wear 6's..and i think i look ok for me. I'll never look like the 24 year old girl who lives across the street from me who loves to wear her red two piece 24/7 on the weekends..i'm just not made that way...damn genes..so i guess i'll just go on doing what i love to do...running and lifting and just thank god everyday that i'm healthy enough that i can do these things. Ok...that's enough of a sermon for today..

Vanessa, I am so glad you ate the jelly beans! You know what? Fitness and healthy eating are such a staple in your life now, that even a week of eating jelly beans will not sabotage all your efforts. You're in excellent shape, you're very strong and you're definitely healthy! I don't ever see you going back to where you were, not with your fitness level. So don't sweat the jelly beans, or any other kind of sweets for that matter. ENJOY and savor those little treats. :)
